History Alfredo –

Late summer sun slanted on the lawn while the Friends and volunteers prepared for an evening of community, charity, carbs and catching up.   Adding to the charm of the house tours were historic clothing fashions on display, courtesy of the West Linn Historical Society.

Libations were served with style, and the raffle and silent auction commenced along with the caprese kabobs drizzled in balsamic glaze. Conversations and laughter flowed over the playlist of jazz and smooth rock curated by the Friends’ Beth Smolen.

Warm oil lamps on the tables glowed as the sun set, and the spread was both fresh and decadent. Walnut Balsamic Salad was followed by decadent chicken Alfredo or pious Garden Marinara with many helpings of Parmesan.

The Raffle and Auction were emceed by Friends’ Board President, Kevin Pike, and the winning tickets were drawn by precocious local youth. There were many happy winners, and one cheese basket was re-gifted twice, first because the winner was the donors husband, and again because the winner had an identical basket. Fortunately the third time was the charm, and all donations found good homes.

The event raised funds as well as contributed to our on-going commitment to community involvement and outreach.
